General Manager

A growing, multi-division residential services company is seeking a dynamic General Manager to lead day-to-day operations and drive long-term performance. With a solid foundation of recurring customers, expanding service lines, and a strong support infrastructure, this business is positioned for scalable growth. The incoming GM will take ownership of operational execution, financial stewardship, and team development to ensure sustainable success across all departments.

Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Culture
- Serve as the operational and cultural leader across office and field teams, promoting accountability, professionalism, and trust.
- Foster a values-based environment that emphasizes safety, service, and team development.
- Build leadership depth by mentoring key staff, improving retention, and enhancing employee engagement.
Operational Oversight
- Oversee all daily business operations, including service delivery, field operations, installation workflows, scheduling, and dispatch.
- Improve job costing, resource planning, and workflow standardization to enhance operational efficiency.
- Support local marketing strategies and lead management initiatives in partnership with external providers.
Financial Management
- Own the company P&L and drive disciplined financial performance.
- Monitor key metrics including margins, labor efficiency, and cash flow.
- Identify opportunities to expand services, improve pricing strategies, and increase profitability.
Customer & Market Engagement
- Build strong relationships with suppliers, customers, and local stakeholders to strengthen market reputation.
- Identify and capitalize on growth opportunities including upsells, new service lines, and cross-functional offerings.
- Stay informed on regional market conditions and service trends to guide business development strategy.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a General Manager, Director of Operations, or similar leadership role within a residential services business (e.g., home repair, contracting, skilled trades, or facilities-related services).
- Demonstrated success managing P&L and driving financial performance.
- Strong leadership skills with a track record of building and mentoring teams.
- Operationally-minded, with experience improving processes, systems, and service delivery outcomes.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both internally and externally.
- High integrity, hands-on leadership style, and a mindset of long-term ownership.
Preferred Experience
- Background in industries such as residential HVAC, plumbing, electrical, or home services is strongly preferred.
- Experience in founder-led business transitions, private equity environments, or turnaround operations is a plus.
- Familiarity with CRM, field service management software, or scheduling systems.
