Cx Manager

On-site in Barstow, TX

Our client is expanding its capabilities in mission critical construction and is looking for a Cx Manager to take ownership of commissioning execution for sophisticated, high-performance facilities. This is an opportunity to play a visible role at the intersection of engineering, construction, testing, and operations, helping ensure complex building systems perform as intended before they are placed into service. The right leader will bring strong MEP expertise, disciplined commissioning practices, and the ability to align diverse project teams around a successful operational handoff.

This Role Offers

  • The opportunity to influence system readiness, quality, testing, and turnover from design through final acceptance.
  • Significant exposure to multidisciplinary MEP, controls, life safety, security, and building technology systems.
  • A collaborative environment that brings together engineering, construction, specialty trades, vendors, testing teams, and owner stakeholders.

Focus

  • Direct the commissioning program across design review, construction, startup, functional validation, closeout, and operational handoff.
  • Coordinate field readiness and system verification for HVAC, electrical power, building automation, plumbing, lighting, fire and life safety, security, and other interconnected facility systems.
  • Examine design documents, equipment packages, control sequences, and system interfaces to surface integration or startup concerns early.
  • Create and maintain commissioning roadmaps, verification checklists, testing protocols, issue records, system narratives, and turnover packages.
  • Align engineers, contractors, specialty trades, equipment vendors, testing resources, project leaders, and owner representatives around commissioning priorities and milestones.
  • Manage open items through corrective action and retesting, maintaining clear visibility into completion and acceptance status.
  • Turn complex technical information and testing outcomes into useful reports, presentations, and operating documentation for varied audiences.
  • Guide prefunctional verification, startup preparation, integrated system testing, operator training, and final transition activities.
  • Use recognized commissioning practices, relevant codes and standards, and project lessons learned to drive consistent quality and stronger project outcomes.

Skill Set

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Construction Management, or a related technical discipline, or at least 8 years of directly relevant experience.
  • BCxA ACP, CCP, or an equivalent commissioning credential is required.
  • Strong working knowledge of ASHRAE commissioning practices and MEP systems, including HVAC, electrical distribution, BAS, plumbing, lighting, fire and life safety, and security.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead projects and multidisciplinary teams within technically complex construction environments.
  • Ability to interpret drawings, specifications, equipment submittals, sequences of operation, and other technical system documentation.
  • Strong communication, documentation, and facilitation skills with the ability to work effectively across technical and nontechnical stakeholder groups.
  • Working knowledge of construction technology, applicable codes and standards, and the relationship between design, field execution, commissioning, and facility operations.
  • Previous commissioning experience supporting data centers or other mission critical environments is strongly preferred.
  • Comfortable working on-site in an active construction environment where priorities, testing activities, and field conditions can evolve quickly.
