SAP S/4HANA Finance Architect (Controlling and Accounting)

Location: Chicago preferred; open to remote candidates with travel as needed (10–20%)

Compensation: $200K–$235K base + bonus + equity

This is not a configuration role or a PM role.

We are hiring an SAP S/4HANA Finance Architect to help shape a large-scale transformation across North America.

This role sits within a large enterprise environment undergoing a multi-year S/4HANA transformation and is focused on decision-making and architecture, not execution. You’ll work closely with senior finance leadership to evaluate options, define direction, and guide the evolution of the finance platform.

What you’ll do:

• Lead design decisions across SAP Finance (FI/CO, controlling)
• Evaluate what to adopt, when to adopt, and why
• Translate system design into clear business implications
• Partner directly with Controller/CFO-level stakeholders

What matters most:

• Deep FI/CO + controlling expertise
• Experience with S/4 transformations
• Ability to structure decisions and articulate tradeoffs

What won’t work:

• Project managers
• Pure configurators
• Generalist SAP backgrounds
