Forward Deployed Engineer

Our client is an AI-driven scale-up that is redefining how multibillion-dollar capital projects are planned before a single shovel hits the dirt. Their collaborative platform turns days-long, manual estimating and procurement tasks into minutes of intelligent decision-making. As demand explodes, they need a Forward Deployed Engineer who can live at the edge of product and customer success—uncovering pain points on-site, then shipping production-grade solutions that handle terabytes of mission-critical data.

What You’ll Tackle

• Partner on the front lines. Spend two days per week in the Bay Area office and ~30 percent of your time with enterprise customers, mapping real-world workflows to technical solutions.
• Prototype at startup speed. In one- to two-week sprints, build proof-of-concept agents that showcase “wow” moments and unlock new revenue.
• Launch for scale. Harden successful prototypes into cloud-native microservices, APIs, and sleek UIs that serve multiple Fortune 500 clients.
• Tame unstructured data. Convert PDFs, spreadsheets, and legacy exports into query-ready knowledge bases—no two datasets look the same.
• Lead by example. Document architectures, share field insights with product and engineering leadership, and coach client teams on best practices.

What You’ll Bring

• 5+ years of full-stack software engineering (Python plus a modern web framework such as FastAPI, Flask, or React).
• Production experience with SQL and NoSQL databases, and at least one major cloud platform (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
• Hands-on work with modern AI/ML stacks—LLMs, embeddings, retrieval-augmented generation, or classical ML pipelines.
• Proven success in a customer-facing capacity (solutions engineering, consulting, technical sales, or similar).
• Superb written and verbal communication: you translate deep tech into boardroom clarity.
• Willingness to travel up to 40 percent.
• Bonus points for: developer-relations chops, construction or industrial domain insight, experience with tools like CrewAI or LangChain, or contributions to open source.
