EHS Manager

A nationally recognized leader in complex industrial projects is seeking an experienced EHS Manager to oversee safety operations across multiple high-impact sites. This role is instrumental in upholding a proactive safety culture and ensuring full compliance with regulatory and internal safety standards. Key Responsibilities
Training & Development
- Lead safety training initiatives including new hire onboarding, hazard recognition, and emergency protocols across field and office operations.
- Facilitate daily safety briefings, toolbox talks, and awareness sessions to reinforce proactive safety behaviors.
- Support and mentor field safety staff, ensuring training documentation and site safety data are maintained accurately.
Compliance & Policy Enforcement
- Implement EHS programs aligned with federal, state, and local standards (e.g., OSHA, MSHA), as well as client-specific protocols.
- Conduct audits, job hazard analyses, and inspections to ensure consistent application of safety policies.
- Partner with site leaders to identify and correct unsafe conditions or behaviors.
Incident Investigation & Reporting
- Lead root cause investigations and develop corrective action plans for safety incidents.
- Maintain thorough incident records and collaborate with site leadership on resolution and preventative strategies.
- Leverage digital tools and EHS platforms to track incidents, trends, and outcomes.
Site & Operational Support
- Collaborate with operations leadership to embed a “safety-first” mindset throughout all levels of the organization.
- Establish regular communications with field teams and act as the EHS liaison with client representatives.
- Provide daily safety reports and updates to internal and external stakeholders
- Regulatory Engagement & Continuous Improvement
- Interface with regulatory agencies during inspections, audits, and investigations.
- Stay informed of evolving EHS regulations and emerging safety technologies.
- Recommend and implement process improvements based on safety performance metrics and field feedback.
Qualifications
- CHST certification or equivalent field safety experience required (CHST must be obtained within 12 months of hire if not already held).
- 5+ years of safety leadership in construction or heavy industrial environments.
- Proficient understanding of OSHA and other relevant regulatory frameworks.
- Demonstrated ability to mentor safety professionals and collaborate with site operations.
- Prior experience across industrial sectors such as energy, mining, food & beverage, refining, or manufacturing is a plus.
- Strong documentation, reporting, and communication skills.
- Familiarity with EHS software platforms and MS Office.
- First Aid/CPR certification preferred.
- Willingness to travel regularly to active project sites.
