Staff Accountant

Our client is a growing, multinational manufacturer that supplies high-performance materials used in construction, roofing, signage, and consumer DIY markets. As part of a tight-knit finance team, you will own critical close processes for multiple North-American business units-including a cross-border subsidiary-while gaining exposure to cost accounting, SOX compliance, and executive-level decision support. If you enjoy variety, visibility, and the pace of a true production environment, this is the opportunity to accelerate your accounting career.

This Role Offers:

  • Comprehensive health benefits, 401(k) with company match, and generous PTO.
  • Hands-on mentorship from a seasoned Controller and visibility to the CFO and plant leadership.
  • Stable, privately held parent organization with continued North-American expansion.
  • Collaborative culture that values continuous improvement, safety, and work-life support (ad-hoc WFH exceptions accommodated).

Focus:

  • Drive the monthly, quarterly, and annual close for U.S. and Mexico ledgers, ensuring deadlines and GAAP requirements are met.
  • Prepare, review, and post journal entries; reconcile high-volume G/L accounts; and research variances for management review.
  • Compile internal and external financial statements with clear commentary on P&L and balance-sheet movements.
  • Support the Mexico division with payroll entries, intercompany allocations, and multi-currency reclasses, leveraging bilingual skills where applicable.
  • Maintain sales-and-use-tax schedules and ensure accurate booking of all indirect taxes.
  • Lead selected SOX control tests and assist with annual external audits and physical inventory counts.
  • Collect W-9 data and prepare year-end 1099/1096 filings.
  • Recommend process improvements that streamline reconciliation, reporting, and analytics.

Skill Set:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 0–3 years of general ledger or public-accounting experience-manufacturing or cost-driven environment preferred.
  • Proficiency with ERP systems (SAP or comparable) and advanced Excel modeling.
  • Working knowledge of U.S. GAAP; exposure to SOX or other internal-control frameworks is a plus.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and time-management skills; able to thrive under tight deadlines.
  • Spanish language capability is a bonus but not required .
