Attitude Determination & Control Systems (ADCS) Engineer

A global leader in space-based communications is scaling their next-generation low Earth orbit (LEO) satellite programs and is seeking an experienced ADCS Engineer to help shape the future of aerospace technology. This is an exciting opportunity to work on mission-critical satellite systems, with influence across real-time operations, anomaly resolution, and long-term platform stability. You'll be joining a world-class team dedicated to ensuring the reliability and performance of orbiting satellite assets supporting a variety of cutting-edge payloads.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate within a highly skilled satellite operations team to ensure optimal performance and stability of active LEO satellite fleets.
- Apply expertise in attitude control systems to monitor, analyze, and optimize satellite orientation and pointing accuracy.
- Conduct trend analysis and performance forecasting for satellite sensors and actuators, ensuring the longevity and health of key subsystems.
- Support anomaly investigation and recovery efforts through real-time data interpretation and strategic problem-solving.
- Author and maintain operational procedures and scripts for satellite subsystem control and optimization.
- Oversee telemetry monitoring, data analysis, and command execution to ensure continuous, safe, and efficient operations.
- Design and implement engineering tools to improve satellite and ground station automation, diagnostics, and monitoring.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance the reliability and scalability of spacecraft operations.
Required Background:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- 7+ years of experience working with attitude and orbit control systems in operational satellite environments.
- Deep understanding of satellite control theory, including PID controllers and modeling of sensor/actuator dynamics.
- Demonstrated success working in structured operational environments with clear documentation and process adherence.
- Experience programming in Python or MATLAB for data analysis, scripting, and tool development.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to synthesize complex data into actionable insights.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in a related engineering discipline.
- 10+ years of experience supporting satellite attitude control operations, especially in LEO environments.
- Familiarity with mission planning tools and real-time telemetry systems.
