AI Vision Model Training Engineer

Location: Remote (Toronto, ON)

About the Opportunity

A forward‑looking AI firm seeks an AI Vision Model Training Engineer to lead the development and deployment of computer vision pipelines that enable real-time, scalable solutions in industrial environments. You’ll be on the front lines of innovation - building models that power automation in manufacturing settings, collaborating across product, operations, and infrastructure teams, and contributing meaningfully to mission-critical systems.

This is a remote role (Canada, with preference for those in or near Toronto) that gives you the flexibility of distributed work while staying tightly connected to a purpose-driven AI product mission.

What You’ll Do

  • Design, train, fine‑tune, and validate computer vision models (e.g., object detection, segmentation, classification) for production use
  • Build and maintain scalable model training pipelines and integrate them into an MLOps infrastructure
  • Monitor deployed model performance, analyze drift or edge cases, and iterate for robustness
  • Debug, profile, and optimize models and inference code under real-world constraints
  • Collaborate with engineering, product, and operations teams to align model outcomes with business and manufacturing objectives
  • Leverage cloud compute (e.g. AWS, GCP, Azure) and edge hardware (e.g. Jetson, ARM devices) to develop end-to-end workflows
  • Document processes, metrics, and system behavior to ensure reproducibility and clarity
  • Periodically assist with implementing models on location or launching trial runs.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in CS, ML, EE, or related discipline
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience in computer vision / ML model training and deployment
  • Proficiency in Python, Linux, Docker, Git, and GPU acceleration stacks (e.g., CUDA, TensorRT)
  • Familiarity with ML frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow, etc.)
  • Experience with cloud infrastructure, CI/CD for ML, monitoring and observability tools
  • Exposure to edge devices or ARM architectures is a strong plus
  • Strong communication skills, ability to work cross-functionally, and ownership mindset

What’s In It for You

  • Tangible influence: your models will drive live operations in industrial production environments.
  • Equity upside in a high-growth AI firm
  • Remote-first setup with flexibility and support
  • Professional development, access to advanced compute, and technical autonomy
  • Opportunity to bridge AI innovation with industrial operations.
