Head of Data Center Engineering

They are seeking a Head of Data Center Engineering to lead the design, development, and deployment of world-class AI data centers. Key Responsibilities
- Lead the full engineering lifecycle of AI-optimized data centers, including conceptual design, system integration, and commissioning.
- Oversee architecture and implementation of advanced infrastructure systems across mechanical, electrical, and controls disciplines.
- Drive innovation in high-density, GPU-accelerated environments, incorporating cutting-edge cooling, power distribution, and automation technologies.
- Build and manage a multidisciplinary engineering organization responsible for delivering scalable and resilient data center solutions.
- Partner with internal and external stakeholders including vendors, OEMs, contractors, and operations teams to ensure seamless project execution.
- Define and enforce global engineering standards, operational guidelines, and design frameworks for consistency and scalability.
- Evaluate emerging technologies to improve energy efficiency, sustainability, and total cost of ownership.
- Lead post-deployment analysis, performance tuning, and continuous optimization to maintain reliability and uptime at scale.
Required Experience
- 10+ years of experience in data center, semiconductor, or mission-critical infrastructure engineering.
- Proven leadership in designing or operating large-scale, high-density data center environments.
- Broad knowledge across mechanical, electrical, and controls systems with a focus on integration and performance.
- Experience implementing advanced cooling technologies such as liquid-to-chip or immersion cooling preferred.
- Expertise in thermodynamics, power systems, energy management, and system-level optimization.
- Familiarity with key standards and best practices, including ASHRAE, Uptime Institute, ANSI, and NFPA.
- Proficiency in simulation, modeling, and data-driven design tools (e.g., CFD, energy modeling).
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field required; advanced degree or PE license preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with modular, prefabricated, or hyperscale data center design.
- Track record of scaling engineering teams and processes for global deployment.
- Familiarity with advanced water treatment, waste heat recovery, and ultra-low PUE designs.
- Master’s degree or advanced certifications in engineering, energy systems, or data center design a plus.
