Our client is pioneering the future of AI infrastructure, developing next-generation data centers built to support the explosive growth of artificial intelligence, machine learning, and high-performance computing. The company is scaling globally to deliver ultra-efficient, high-density compute environments that enable the most advanced workloads on earth.

They are seeking a Head of Data Center Engineering to lead the design, development, and deployment of world-class AI data centers. This is a rare opportunity to define the engineering strategy for mission-critical systems that power global innovation, combining deep technical vision with hands-on leadership across architecture, infrastructure, and operations.

What You’ll Gain

  • Competitive compensation structure with performance-based incentives.
  • Fully remote flexibility with limited travel to project sites and partner facilities.
  • Executive-level influence on the design and buildout of next-generation AI data centers worldwide.
  • Strong capital support and access to top-tier partners to deliver transformative projects.
  • Collaborative, forward-thinking culture emphasizing innovation, transparency, and growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the full engineering lifecycle of AI-optimized data centers, including conceptual design, system integration, and commissioning.
  • Oversee architecture and implementation of advanced infrastructure systems across mechanical, electrical, and controls disciplines.
  • Drive innovation in high-density, GPU-accelerated environments, incorporating cutting-edge cooling, power distribution, and automation technologies.
  • Build and manage a multidisciplinary engineering organization responsible for delivering scalable and resilient data center solutions.
  • Partner with internal and external stakeholders including vendors, OEMs, contractors, and operations teams to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Define and enforce global engineering standards, operational guidelines, and design frameworks for consistency and scalability.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies to improve energy efficiency, sustainability, and total cost of ownership.
  • Lead post-deployment analysis, performance tuning, and continuous optimization to maintain reliability and uptime at scale.

Required Experience

  • 10+ years of experience in data center, semiconductor, or mission-critical infrastructure engineering.
  • Proven leadership in designing or operating large-scale, high-density data center environments.
  • Broad knowledge across mechanical, electrical, and controls systems with a focus on integration and performance.
  • Experience implementing advanced cooling technologies such as liquid-to-chip or immersion cooling preferred.
  • Expertise in thermodynamics, power systems, energy management, and system-level optimization.
  • Familiarity with key standards and best practices, including ASHRAE, Uptime Institute, ANSI, and NFPA.
  • Proficiency in simulation, modeling, and data-driven design tools (e.g., CFD, energy modeling).
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field required; advanced degree or PE license preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with modular, prefabricated, or hyperscale data center design.
  • Track record of scaling engineering teams and processes for global deployment.
  • Familiarity with advanced water treatment, waste heat recovery, and ultra-low PUE designs.
  • Master’s degree or advanced certifications in engineering, energy systems, or data center design a plus.
