Territory Sales Executive

Location: Remote in Michigan or Indiana

Our client is seeking a Territory Sales Executive to grow a high-potential regional market within the fiber and outside plant infrastructure ecosystem. This is an opportunity for a technically credible, relationship-driven sales professional to take ownership of Michigan and Indiana, build meaningful customer partnerships, and turn field engagement into sustainable revenue growth. With a consultative sales approach, direct access to experienced leadership, strong manufacturer relationships, and significant autonomy, this role is well suited for someone who enjoys creating opportunities rather than simply managing an inherited book of business.

This Role Offers

  • Competitive base salary, based on relevant experience with a quarterly company commissions and annual bonus opportunity
  • Full-time W-2 employment with medical benefits, a 401(k) with company match, and flexible, trust-based PTO.
  • Hands-on coaching, field support, product education, and manufacturer training designed to accelerate success.
  • A small-team environment where initiative is visible, decisions move quickly, and successful contributors can make a meaningful impact.
  • Potential for a longer-term ownership or equity path, subject to future structure, performance, and mutual fit.

Focus

  • Manage a two-state territory across Michigan and Indiana, spending approximately three to four days per week engaging customers and partners in the field.
  • Develop new business with organizations involved in building and maintaining fiber infrastructure, including contractors, broadband operators, public-sector network owners, utilities, and channel partners.
  • Create a practical territory strategy, prioritize target accounts, research upcoming projects, and convert prospecting activity into qualified opportunities.
  • Lead customer-facing product education through demonstrations, technical discussions, training sessions, lunch-and-learns, and partner-supported sales calls.
  • Connect fiber and outside plant product capabilities to real construction, installation, splicing, testing, and maintenance challenges.
  • Collaborate with distributors and manufacturer partners to create demand, support active opportunities, and improve product adoption throughout the region.
  • Keep Salesforce or a comparable CRM current with meaningful account notes, activity, opportunity stages, next steps, forecasts, and follow-up commitments.
  • Provide clear, data-backed market and pipeline updates that help manufacturer partners understand activity, customer needs, and emerging opportunities.
  • Complete product and manufacturer training while continuously expanding technical knowledge of fiber and OSP applications.
  • Operate with a high degree of independence while staying responsive, collaborative, and accountable to customers and partners.

Skill Set

  • Approximately 3 to 7 years of relevant experience within fiber, outside plant, broadband infrastructure, construction, field operations, project management, distribution, business development, or technical sales.
  • Practical familiarity with fiber and outside plant products, tools, materials, construction methods, and field conditions.
  • Demonstrated customer-facing experience delivering presentations, product demonstrations, training, lunch-and-learns, or joint calls.
  • Track record of prospecting, developing new accounts, or building a territory with limited day-to-day supervision.
  • Strong Salesforce proficiency or disciplined experience with another CRM, plus the ability to adopt Salesforce quickly.
  • Comfort traveling throughout Michigan and Indiana approximately three to four days per week.
  • Strong written and verbal communication, including the ability to translate field activity and CRM data into useful manufacturer updates.
  • Valid driver's license, reliable vehicle, and readiness for frequent regional travel.
  • Self-directed, curious, responsive, and collaborative approach with strong follow-through.

Preferred Experience

  • Fiber splicing, OSP construction, field operations, or project management experience.
  • Established relationships with fiber contractors, service providers, cooperatives, municipalities, utilities, distributors, or other infrastructure stakeholders in Michigan or Indiana.
  • Experience working with electrical, communications, or broadband distribution channels.
  • Familiarity with manufacturer representative organizations, OSP manufacturers, or channel-driven sales models.
  • Experience conducting technical product demonstrations, contractor education, or customer training.
  • Evidence of competitive drive, resilience, coachability, and a history of achieving measurable goals.
