Account Manager
This is a remote position supporting customers across the Northeastern United States.
Candidates must reside in one of the following states to be considered: NY, MA, VT, NH, ME, RI, CT, NJ, DE, VA, MD, DC, & WV.
A rapidly growing specialty ingredients and solutions provider serving the food and beverage industry is seeking a dynamic Account Manager to expand its presence across the Northeast United States. You will play a key role in expanding market reach, building long term partnerships with manufacturers, and driving profitable growth across a highly strategic territory.
What You Will Do
- Develop and grow customer relationships within the food and beverage manufacturing sector across the assigned territory.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities while expanding engagement with existing accounts.
- Conduct discovery conversations with R and D teams, procurement leaders, and product development stakeholders to understand formulation needs and sourcing priorities.
- Build and manage a strong pipeline of opportunities while maintaining consistent outreach and in person engagement with customers.
- Present tailored ingredient and formulation solutions that demonstrate clear value to customer product development and manufacturing processes.
- Collaborate with internal technical, operations, and product teams to deliver solutions that align with customer requirements.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and emerging ingredient innovations to identify potential growth opportunities.
- Negotiate pricing and commercial agreements that support long-term partnerships and profitable revenue growth.
- Track activity, opportunities, and performance metrics within CRM tools and maintain accurate reporting.
- Maintain frequent customer contact through site visits, meetings, and industry events within the region.
- Travel throughout the territory as needed to support customer engagement and business development.

Required Experience
- Minimum 5 years of B2B sales experience within food ingredients, food and beverage manufacturing, or related specialty chemical markets.
- Proven track record of driving new business development and meeting or exceeding sales targets.
- Experience building relationships with customer stakeholders such as R and D teams, product developers, and procurement leaders.
- Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to operate independently while managing a multi-state territory.
- Experience using CRM systems and standard business software tools.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in food science, Chemistry, Biology, Biochemistry, or a related technical discipline.
- Background selling functional ingredients, natural colors, additives, or formulation solutions.
- Experience navigating complex technical sales cycles involving product development teams.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with a strong drive for growth and opportunity creation.
