Commercial Lighting Sales, Contractor/Distributor Channels
Location: Louisiana Statewide - Remote
Our client is a highly regarded organization in the commercial lighting space, supporting projects across the region with responsive service, strong product knowledge, and trusted relationships throughout the construction and design community. As they continue expanding their reach across Louisiana, they are seeking a sales professional who can help drive growth, strengthen customer partnerships, and support commercial initiatives from early conversations through final execution.
This role partners with customers throughout the lifecycle of commercial lighting projects, from initial planning and product evaluation through quotations, documentation, order coordination, and post-sale support. You will work with a mix of contractors, distributor partners, and design stakeholders, adjusting your approach based on the account, project scope, and pace of the opportunity. Success in this role will come from your ability to build confidence, understand project needs, and provide knowledgeable, dependable support.
You will not be expected to operate in exactly the same way across every account. The right person will know how to navigate different customer types and project stages while creating long-term value and building a strong book of business throughout the state.

Focus:
- Build and maintain strong partnerships with clients, vendors, and other influential contacts involved in commercial project activity.
- Identify new business opportunities through consistent outreach, follow-up, and relationship-based account development.
- Introduce lighting products and solutions through meetings, walkthroughs, and presentations tailored to customer needs and project goals.
- Contribute to the sales process through quotations, submittals, order entry, and coordination of project-related activities.
- Support customers with product selections and project requirements that balance performance needs with design intent.
- Maintain clear day-to-day communication with customers to ensure strong follow-through and a high level of service.
- Stay informed on industry developments, product updates, and relevant standards through ongoing learning and market engagement.
Skill Set:
- 3+ years of sales experience within the commercial lighting industry.
- Demonstrated ability to work with multiple decision-makers and influencers across commercial project environments.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build credibility with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.
- Working knowledge of quoting tools, project documentation systems, and customer relationship management platforms.
- Exposure to AutoCAD, Revit, AGi32, or similar tools is helpful but not required.
- Industry certification such as LC, or education in a related discipline, is viewed favorably.
