Traveling Superintendent
Location: Remote — Nationwide
Employment Type: Full-time | Direct-hire
Travel & Schedule: Expect full-time travel Monday–Friday (with some weekend work) to projects nationwide. Typical site rotations range from two to six weeks depending on scope.
Our client is a fast-growing national general contractor that delivers high-visibility remodels, roll-outs, and ground-up projects for marquee retail, restaurant, and light-industrial brands coast-to-coast. As project volume accelerates, they need a road-warrior Superintendent who can orchestrate field operations, inspire subcontractor excellence, and keep owners delighted—without swinging a hammer. If you thrive on autonomy, love new jobsites, and excel at turning “open for business” dates into reality, this is your next adventure.
What You’ll Own
- Direct all on-site activities, schedules, and inspections to achieve scope, budget, and zero-incident safety goals.
- Publish concise logs, photos, and progress reports that keep project managers and clients ahead of the curve.
- Anticipate field conflicts (often with limited plans or permits), craft solutions, and drive resolution before schedules slip.
- Set expectations, coach crews, and verify work meets quality specs every step of the way.
- Serve as the face of the project, protecting brand standards and cultivating long-term partnerships.
- Model professionalism, accountability, and respectful collaboration on jobsites nationwide.
Ideal Profile
- 5 + years as a Site or Traveling Superintendent on interior remodels, tenant improvements, or quick-turn commercial projects.
- Demonstrated success running multi-state or multi-site programs with aggressive timelines.
- Comfortable working without full drawing sets—able to “figure it out” and keep crews productive.
- OSHA 30 (or ability to obtain quickly); strong command of job-site safety best practices.
- Proficient with construction management software for scheduling, RFIs, and daily reporting.
- Stellar communication skills and a valid driver’s license.
Nice-to-Have
- Ground-up or light-industrial experience.
- NCCER, LEED, or similar certifications.
- Experience with national account roll-outs (retail, restaurant, logistics, etc.).
Compensation & Perks
- Competitive base compensation.
- 100 % Travel Coverage: Flights or mileage, late-model rental/vehicle, lodging (typically Airbnb or equivalent), plus company AMEX for job expenses.
- Full health, dental, vision, life insurance, and paid time off.
- Career path into Senior Superintendent or Project Management as the company scales.
