Jr. Quantum Simulation Engineer

Location: Remote — Nationwide (USA)

As a Jr. Quantum Simulation Engineer, you will turn cutting-edge research into reproducible code and data, working shoulder-to-shoulder with world-class scientists in an all-remote, fast-moving start-up environment. Your work will directly influence next-generation products that lengthen healthspan, elevate performance, and connect biological and digital intelligence.

Key Focus Areas

  • Translate peer-reviewed literature on batteries, catalysts, and other quantum materials into well-structured simulation parameters and models
  • Build and execute end-to-end workflows spanning first-principles (e.g., DFT), molecular dynamics, and device-level physics
  • Package results into annotated, shareable datasets and visualization notebooks to enable rapid model validation
  • Contribute production-ready Python modules, CI pipelines, and version-controlled repositories that meet reproducibility standards
  • Partner with cross-functional scientists and product managers to prioritize feature development and roadmap milestones

 

Skill Set & Qualifications

  • 1–3 years of post-academic experience in materials science, chemical engineering, physics, or related discipline
  • Hands-on exposure to first-principles tools (VASP, Quantum ESPRESSO), MD engines (LAMMPS, GROMACS), and continuum/device modeling frameworks
  • Proficiency in Python for scientific computing, data analysis, and workflow automation
  • Comfort with Linux and HPC or cloud-based clusters; experience with Git and modern CI/CD practices
  • Demonstrated ability to reproduce published simulation results and clearly communicate insights to domain experts and non-technical stakeholders
  • Bonus: familiarity with quantum-computing SDKs (Qiskit, PennyLane) or large-scale data-management systems
