Power Engineer Systems
Location: Remote/Nationwide
Our client is expanding its ability to support large scale, mission critical infrastructure projects across the United States and is seeking a power engineering professional who can help shape how new capacity comes online. This is a high impact opportunity for someone who enjoys solving complex utility and power delivery challenges, influencing early project strategy, and working across technical and commercial stakeholders to move major developments from concept toward execution.
This position is ideal for an engineer who brings a blend of power systems knowledge, utility coordination experience, and practical project judgment. The person in this role will help evaluate power availability, guide infrastructure planning, support external design partners, and advise on the decisions that affect schedule, resiliency, and long-term project success.
This Role Offers
- Competitive compensation and strong long-term career upside.
- High visibility work supporting major infrastructure programs with national reach.
- A chance to influence front end planning, utility strategy, and execution outcomes.
- A collaborative, entrepreneurial environment where technical input directly shapes decisions.
- Meaningful exposure to utility coordination, substation strategy, interconnection planning, and owner side advisory work.
Focus
- Evaluate utility capacity, interconnection pathways, and site level power options for large scale critical infrastructure programs.
- Shape early-stage electrical concepts, including substation arrangements, distribution paths, and phased energization strategies.
- Guide utility facing workstreams from initial inquiry through service activation, balancing schedule, technical scope, and commercial risk.
- Create owner side technical requirements and review external engineering packages, bids, and vendor deliverables for alignment.
- Support power strategy decisions tied to load growth, voltage selection, resiliency targets, and delivery milestones.
- Identify project constraints early, develop mitigation paths, and keep stakeholders informed on utility and design dependencies.
- Contribute to proposal support and business development efforts by translating technical concepts into client ready recommendations.
- Partner with internal and external teams to maintain quality, consistency, and execution readiness across multiple projects.
Skill Set
- Bachelor's degree in electrical or power engineering, plus professional engineering credentials or progress toward licensure preferred.
- Several years of experience in transmission, distribution, substation, utility interconnection, or large campus power design.
- Strong understanding of utility infrastructure, switching or substation concepts, and high voltage power delivery.
- Experience reviewing design packages, technical specifications, and contractor or vendor proposals.
- Comfort working across technical, operational, and client facing discussions.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD, with familiarity in Revit or BIM considered helpful.
- Strong communication skills, sound engineering judgment, and the ability to work independently in a fast-moving setting.
- Willingness to travel within the United States when project needs require it.
Why Candidates Apply
This is an opportunity to step into a visible role where power strategy is central to project success. The work is broad, the impact is tangible, and the environment rewards people who can connect engineering depth with real world execution.
