Project Manager – Fire Life Safety
On-site in Hollywood, FL
Our client is a growing commercial fire and life safety organization seeking an experienced Project Manager to take ownership of complex projects and help build a more scalable, disciplined approach to delivery. This is a high-visibility opportunity for someone who understands the fire alarm business and knows how to bring customers, technical partners, field teams, and regulatory stakeholders together. You will have the autonomy to drive projects forward, solve problems before they become roadblocks, and directly influence the quality of the customer experience as the organization expands its retrofit capabilities.
This Role Offers:
- A visible project leadership position with ownership from early project evaluation through final turnover.
- The opportunity to strengthen project execution and introduce practical processes that support continued growth.
- Direct interaction with customers, contractors, technical partners, inspectors, field personnel, and company leadership.
- A primarily office-based leadership role with targeted site visits when firsthand project insight is needed.
- Meaningful influence over customer satisfaction, project consistency, and the development of a scalable retrofit operation.
Focus:
- Own a portfolio of commercial life safety upgrades, guiding each assignment from early assessment and planning through approvals, field execution, inspection, and turnover.
- Turn site findings, code requirements, and engineering input into actionable project plans and clearly defined scopes.
- Orchestrate designers, permit specialists, contractors, inspectors, customers, and field crews so dependencies are addressed and work continues moving.
- Build and maintain practical schedules for design reviews, approvals, mobilization, inspections, punch work, and turnover.
- Keep clients and property stakeholders informed with clear status updates, realistic expectations, and prompt responses when conditions change.
- Surface schedule, scope, approval, and communication risks early, then lead the follow-through required to resolve them.
- Partner with field personnel before and during execution to confirm scope, access, sequencing, materials, and customer expectations.
- Improve project controls, documentation, handoffs, and recurring workflows to support consistent execution as project volume grows.
Skill Set:
- Several years of experience in commercial fire alarm, life safety, or a closely related low-voltage or electrical environment, including meaningful project-management or operations responsibility.
- Strong command of the commercial fire alarm project lifecycle and the ability to lead work from evaluation through engineering, permitting, installation, inspection, and closeout.
- Professional customer communication skills and demonstrated success coordinating engineering partners, permit resources, general contractors, property stakeholders, inspectors, and field personnel.
- Ability to interpret site conditions, technical recommendations, and compliance requirements well enough to develop practical scopes and guide projects without serving as the installing technician.
- Proven organization and follow-through while managing multiple concurrent projects, changing priorities, open issues, and customer commitments.
- South Florida industry experience and familiarity with local approval and inspection environments are strongly preferred.
- Retrofit, tenant improvement, estimating, scope development, or commercial property experience is highly valuable.
- NICET, FASA, Florida alarm licensing, or comparable industry credentials are beneficial but may be substituted with strong relevant experience.
