Onsite Generation SME

Remote, Nationwide

A confidential advisory organization supporting major digital infrastructure and power-intensive development programs is adding an Onsite Generation SME to its team. This is a high-visibility opportunity for someone who understands how power availability can shape project economics, schedules, and long-term strategy. The person in this role will help clients move faster on critical projects by bringing clarity to onsite generation options, utility realities, and the practical steps needed to secure reliable power in complex U.S. markets.

Why Join

This role offers the chance to influence high-value projects tied to data centers and other mission-critical environments across the country. You will work in a consultative setting where your technical judgment directly informs site strategy, risk decisions, and stakeholder planning. The position is fully remote with a national scope and strong exposure to sophisticated clients, emerging power solutions, and fast-moving infrastructure priorities.

Focus

  • Guide project teams on behind the meter power strategies for large digital infrastructure developments
  • Evaluate utility readiness, schedule exposure, and power delivery risks during site and project assessments
  • Translate generation, interconnection, and reliability constraints into practical recommendations for investors, developers, and operators
  • Advise stakeholders on options such as reciprocating engines, turbines, microgrids, storage, and hybrid backup configurations
  • Support commercial and technical diligence by identifying power related blockers, assumptions, and decision points early in the project cycle
  • Work across engineering, development, and advisory teams to shape realistic power roadmaps for complex facilities
  • Track market, policy, and technology shifts that could affect onsite generation planning and deployment

Skill Set

  • Background in power generation, utility infrastructure, or energy strategy tied to large load or critical environment projects
  • Understanding of U.S. interconnection pathways, utility processes, and the commercial realities that influence time to power
  • Knowledge of distributed generation assets, backup systems, storage, or related resilience technologies
  • Able to synthesize technical findings for both specialist and executive audiences
  • Comfort operating in a consulting style role where technical depth and executive level communication are equally important
