Senior Business Development Executive - Logistics
Location: Hybrid – Atlanta, GA or Houston, TX (must be able to travel)
About This Role
Join a fast‑growing logistics and freight services organization that is aggressively scaling its commercial engine. This isn’t a “carry over the status quo” position - you will be at the forefront of new market expansion, vertical diversification, and building premium customer relationships across multiple freight and supply chain modalities. The leadership team has already invested heavily in infrastructure, systems, and operations support; now they need a revenue leader who can deliver.
If you bring deep logistics sales experience, a consultative mindset, and the drive to own your territory and pipeline - this role is for you.
What You Will Do
- Prospect, engage, and win new accounts with beneficial cargo owners (BCOs) across key verticals and geographies
- Sell bundled logistics solutions including ocean/NVOCC, domestic trucking (FTL/LTL), warehousing, project cargo, and customs services
- Maintain and grow a sustainable pipeline using CRM (Salesforce) and sales intelligence tools
- Exhibit strong “handoff discipline” - coordinate seamlessly with operations to ensure service delivery and retention
- Build and execute a go‑to‑market plan within assigned territory(s)
- Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and client meetings to elevate brand visibility
- Provide regular reporting on pipeline health, win rates, forecasts, and quarterly performance
Desired Qualifications
- 10+ years of business development or sales experience in the logistics / freight forwarding / 3PL sector
- Proven track record of acquiring and converting high-value BCO or enterprise logistics clients
- Experience selling complex, multimodal logistics solutions (ocean, trucking, warehousing, etc.)
- A portable book of business (or strong relationships) is a major plus
- Ability to work autonomously while coordinating cross-functionally
- Willingness to travel up to 50%, especially through Southeast, Gulf, and interregional corridors
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
