Technical Product Support Engineer - Mining

Location: Washington County, AR (On-Site)

Travel: Up to 50% across the United States

A global leader in the production of consumable tooling and accessories for mining and construction environments is seeking a Technical Product Support Engineer to bridge engineering innovation with real-world application. This field-based role offers the chance to directly support underground mining and drilling operations across the United States - working hands-on with end users, influencing product design, and driving technical improvements that enhance safety, reliability, and performance.

About the Role:

This role serves as a critical link between field operators, the product development team, and internal engineering departments. You’ll engage with a wide range of stakeholders - from drilling crews to manufacturing engineers - to ensure optimal performance and continual evolution of consumable tooling products. You’ll conduct in-field testing, provide technical training, analyze product performance, and contribute feedback to guide future designs.

Key Responsibilities:

  •  Lead technical field trials and testing of drilling tools in mining, quarrying, and construction environments.
  • Deliver on-site support and troubleshooting, interfacing directly with drillers, blasters, and mine operators.
  • Translate field insights into actionable recommendations for product design and quality improvements.
  • Collaborate with internal teams on engineering changes, product lifecycle management, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Provide training and application guidance to sales teams and customer staff on tooling usage, performance metrics, and safety protocols.
  • Partner with manufacturing and quality teams to support production enhancements and process optimization.
  • Create technical documentation, reports, and analysis based on product evaluations and customer feedback.
  • Participate in root cause investigations, corrective action plans, and technical problem-solving.

What Makes This Opportunity Unique:

  • You’ll have a direct impact on product success in some of the most rugged, demanding field conditions in the industry.
  • Your technical input will shape the next generation of high-performance mining tools.
  • You'll be part of a stable yet innovative manufacturer with over a century of industry leadership.
  • If you have a background in underground drilling or blasting and want to take the next step into engineering support, this is a perfect transition role.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • Direct involvement in subsurface extraction, excavation, or borehole operations is a plus.
  • Technical expertise in consumable tooling or mechanical systems.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across field and engineering teams
  • Experience working in field-based roles with exposure to technical troubleshooting.
  • Capability and willingness to travel extensively and work in underground environments.
  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, Industrial, or Mining Engineering preferred - but equivalent field experience will be strongly considered.
  • Experience with design tools and software.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Competitive base salary with travel incentives
  • Medical, dental, and vision coverage
  •  401(k) with employer match
  •  Paid holidays and PTO
  • Growth opportunities in a tight-knit, results-driven technical team
