As the SVP, Network Architecture Strategy, you will be the visionary behind an end-to-end networking platform that connects tens of thousands of GPUs across next-generation data centers and edge sites. Key Outcomes for the First 12–18 Months
- Deliver a reference architecture that supports exabyte-scale AI training clusters while meeting aggressive latency, bandwidth, and power targets.
- Validate a 2–3 MW prototype data-center network and create a repeatable playbook for expansion to multi-50 MW sites.
- Establish strategic silicon and system partnerships that influence roadmaps for high-bandwidth fabrics, advanced NICs, and congestion-aware transport protocols.
- Build a high-impact architecture team and implement best-in-class modeling, simulation, and benchmarking workflows.
Core Responsibilities
- Holistic Network Design: Specify topologies, routing schemes, and transport services optimized for AI training, inference, and data-intensive workflows.
- Architecture Governance: Author detailed specifications for switch fabrics, NIC technologies, and QoS policies, then shepherd them through validation and rollout.
- Technology Evaluation & Vendor Selection: Lead competitive analyses of switching, interconnect, and silicon options. Drive co-development with strategic partners.
- AI Cluster Optimization: Tune RDMA, RoCE, InfiniBand, and emerging transport protocols to maximize throughput and minimize tail latency for GPU clusters.
- Cross-Functional Integration: Align networking plans with data-center layout, power distribution, and cooling strategies to ensure seamless scale-out.
- Proof-of-Concept Leadership: Guide lab and field trials, analyze performance data, and harden designs for production deployment.
- Executive Influence: Serve as the primary technical voice on scalability, risk, and long-term R&D direction for the company’s leadership team.
Required Qualifications
- 20 + years in large-scale networking architecture, HPC systems engineering, or related disciplines.
- Demonstrated success designing and delivering networks that support AI/HPC clusters or hyperscale cloud platforms.
- Deep fluency in RDMA, RoCE, InfiniBand, congestion control, and high-bandwidth fabric design.
- Comprehensive understanding of NIC architecture, switch ASIC pipelines, and transport-layer performance tuning.
- Proven history of hands-on technical delivery in fast-growth or greenfield environments.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent.
