Senior Accountant

Location: On-Site in Denver, CO

A rapidly scaling renewable-energy services company (private-equity backed, ~$600 M in annual revenue and targeting $1 B+ within three years) is relocating its finance hub to Denver. With a brand-new ERP, 20 US operating entities, and an ambitious acquisitions road-map, the team needs a hands-on Senior Accountant who can own the close today and help design a world-class finance function for tomorrow.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the monthly close for assigned business segments, preparing and posting complex journal entries on a five-day timeline.
  • Produce and review balance-sheet reconciliations, investigate variances, and partner with operations to resolve issues quickly.
  • Build dashboards and analyses that compare actuals to budget and prior periods, delivering concise insights to leadership.
  • Consolidate annual budgets and rolling forecasts across multiple entities; support scenario modeling for new projects and acquisitions.
  • Contribute to special projects - ERP data migration, audit readiness, process documentation, and automation of reconciliations.
  • Mentor junior accountants to foster a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 3-5 years progressive accounting experience (public or industry) with multi-entity consolidation exposure.
  • Solid command of US GAAP, account reconciliation methods, and variance analysis.
  • Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, sumifs) and familiarity with modern ERPs (Microsoft Dynamics 365 or similar a plus).
  • Comfortable in a dynamic, “all-hands-on-deck” environment that may require 45-50-hour weeks during close.
  • Clear communicator who enjoys problem-solving and cross-functional teamwork.

Why You’ll Love It Here

  • Direct access to the CFO, Controller, and PE sponsors - high visibility and fast decision cycles.
  • Ground-floor opportunity to shape policies, controls, and systems as the organization rebuilds.
  • Defined career runway: strong performers can progress to Supervisor or Manager roles as the company surpasses $1 B in revenue.
  • Vibrant workplace community featuring regular onsite meals, team-building activities, and managers dedicated to helping staff thrive.

Physical Requirements

  • Primarily office-based computer work with occasional lifting of up to 25 lbs and short walks across the facility or project sites.
