Location: On-Site in Greenwood Village, CO

About the Opportunity

Our client is a high-growth, private-equity-backed provider of critical infrastructure services powering the renewable-energy transition. Following multiple acquisitions and a 30 percent CAGR, they are rebuilding the accounting organization at their new Denver-area headquarters. This Accounting Supervisor role is your chance to step into a visible leadership seat, streamline processes, and help guide the company from $600 million to the billion-dollar mark - all while mentoring a small team and partnering directly with senior executives on high-impact projects such as a Microsoft D365 ERP rollout, first-time audits, and multi-entity consolidations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead month-end close for several U.S. legal entities, preparing and reviewing journal entries, variance analyses, and balance-sheet reconciliations.
  • Supervise daily cash management and company P-card programs, ensuring accurate, timely posting of all transactions.
  • Drive continuous-improvement initiatives - documenting workflows, eliminating backlog items, and standardizing reconciliation templates.
  • Provide hands-on coaching to 2-3 staff and senior accountants; set goals, monitor performance, and foster a collaborative, learning-oriented environment.
  • Serve as an accounting subject-matter expert on the D365 ERP implementation team; own data-migration mapping, user-acceptance testing, and control design.
  • Partner with FP&A on monthly management reporting, explaining balance-sheet and P&L fluctuations to leadership.
  • Support internal and external audits, ESOP testing, covenant reporting, and ad-hoc projects tied to M&A, modeling, and process automation.
  • Champion an ownership mindset around GAAP compliance and internal controls across the broader finance organization.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
  • 5-7 years of progressive accounting experience, including at least one year of people leadership.
  • Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP plus multi-company consolidations, intercompany eliminations, and project-based revenue / cost allocations.
  • Working knowledge of modern ERPs (Microsoft D365 or similar) and advanced Excel skills (lookups, pivot tables, basic macros).
  • Proven success thriving in fast-paced, change-heavy, PE-backed settings that require extensive process build-out.
  • Exceptional analytical, organizational, and communication skills with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
  • Flexibility to work ~45–50 hours during close and other peak periods.

What’s in It for You

  • Competitive base salary with annual bonus potential.
  • Full benefits package (health, dental, vision, 401(k) with match, PTO), plus Friday catered lunches, weekday bagels, and frequent team events.
  • Direct line of sight to Controller and CFO - ideal runway to Manager or Director within 24-36 months as consultants roll off.
  • Opportunity to leave your fingerprint on an accounting rebuild at a company set to eclipse $1 billion in revenue.
