Key Responsibilities:
- Architect, develop, and deploy secure, scalable network designs to support a growing multi-tenant data environment.
- Manage and optimize core routing protocols, including BGP and OSPF, to maintain high-availability and performance.
- Configure and administer next-generation firewall solutions with a focus on traffic control, threat detection, and policy enforcement (Palo Alto preferred).
- Maintain and optimize enterprise-grade switching platforms, particularly in high-density environments using Layer 2/3 switching (experience with Arista hardware a plus).
- Oversee IP address management and subnet design for optimal network segmentation and traffic flow.
- Monitor network performance using advanced tools and respond proactively to latency or service degradation.
- Lead and coordinate troubleshooting for complex network incidents, interfacing with internal teams and third-party vendors.
- Uphold rigorous security standards and ensure network compliance with industry best practices and frameworks.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation including configurations, procedures, and change logs.
- Support customer onboarding and incident resolution with professionalism and efficiency.
- Participate in business continuity planning and disaster recovery testing initiatives.
- Be part of an on-call support rotation for critical infrastructure.
Requirements:
- 7+ years of hands-on network engineering experience, with at least 2 years in a senior-level or leadership capacity.
- Advanced expertise with WAN/LAN architecture, firewall management, and routing protocols.
- Deep familiarity with network segmentation, performance tuning, and secure protocol design (SSL, TLS, IPSec).
- Strong foundation in both troubleshooting complex issues and implementing preventative solutions.
- Excellent communication skills, both with technical peers and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
Preferred:
- Experience with network automation and scripting (Python, Ansible).
- Familiarity with network monitoring platforms like SolarWinds, PRTG, or Zabbix.
- Understanding of SD-WAN and software-defined networking practices.
- Prior exposure to data center operations and network scaling strategies.
Education & Certifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Relevant certifications a plus (e.g., Palo Alto Networks, Arista, Cisco CCNA/CCNP).
