Billing Specialist
Location: Near Kickapoo, IL (On-site)
A well-established infrastructure services firm specializing in fiber-to-the-premises (FTTP) deployment is seeking a detail-oriented Billing Specialist to support its high-demand broadband projects. With a strong industry reputation and long-term carrier contracts in place, this growing organization offers an exciting opportunity to modernize its processes and make a meaningful operational impact.
As part of a tight-knit office, the Billing Specialist will own the billing lifecycle for large-scale telecom construction work. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment, enjoys optimizing workflows, and wants to grow within a company that values initiative and long-term commitment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own end-to-end billing operations for telecom infrastructure projects in partnership with major broadband carriers.
- Manage billing documentation and data entry using project management tools (such as SiteTracker).
- Track construction milestones to ensure accurate and timely invoicing.
- Coordinate internal reporting and collaborate with operations and administrative teams.
- Help transition legacy, paper-heavy workflows into efficient digital systems.
- Support ad hoc administrative functions common in small, multi-functional teams.
- Contribute ideas for process improvement and actively participate in implementing change.
About You:
- Proven experience in billing, administrative coordination, or project support, ideally within telecom, construction, or utilities.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and comfort navigating new software systems.
- Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
- A proactive mindset—willing to suggest and implement improvements, not just maintain the status quo.
- Ability to adapt and wear multiple hats in a small, collaborative office setting.
- Clear communicator with a “team-first” attitude.
Preferred Attributes:
- Familiarity with SiteTracker or other industry-specific billing/project management tools.
- Exposure to fiber-optic infrastructure or utility construction billing.
- Experience interfacing with major broadband carriers or their subcontractors.
- Desire to evolve manual processes into streamlined, tech-enabled systems.
- Enthusiasm for working in a family-style environment while supporting a company in transition toward modernization.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Competitive base salary (flexible depending on experience).
- 100% employer-paid health insurance for the employee.
- 401(k) plan with generous company contributions.
- Standard PTO and vacation policy with informal flexibility for long-term team members.
- Work in a close-knit team with plans to move into a newly upgraded office space in the near future.
- Long-term growth potential in a company with strong industry demand and stability.
This is a rare opportunity to bring your organizational expertise to a company making real-world impact on digital infrastructure. If you’re seeking a role where your contributions are visible, valued, and vital to daily operations, we’d love to hear from you.
