Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and oversee all accounting functions, including general ledger, cost accounting, accounts payable/receivable, fixed assets, payroll, and cash management.
  • Execute accurate and timely month-end and year-end closings, ensuring GAAP-compliant financial statements.
  • Direct financial planning, forecasting, budgeting, and performance reporting processes.
  • Manage internal controls, compliance programs, and audit preparation, including liaison responsibilities during external audits.
  • Implement and refine cost accounting systems tailored to manufacturing operations, including standard cost updates and variance analysis.
  • Supervise and mentor a team of accounting professionals, promoting a culture of accountability, development, and operational efficiency.
  • Maintain and enhance the organization’s financial reporting and business intelligence tools.
  • Coordinate with senior leadership to manage cash flow projections, insurance and risk assessments, and business process improvements.
  • Support payroll processing, commission calculations, bonus tracking, and tax reporting (including 1099s and sales/use tax filings).
  • Drive process automation and ERP optimization to streamline financial operations.
  • Assist with inventory control and demand planning initiatives as needed.

 

Candidate Profile:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; Master’s or CPA/CMA designation strongly preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of progressive financial leadership experience, ideally in a manufacturing setting; 10+ years highly desired.
  • Deep expertise in cost accounting, financial reporting, and full-cycle month-end closings.
  • Working knowledge of regulatory frameworks, including cGMP and SQF, is advantageous.
  • Proficiency with financial software tools (e.g., Sage, Tableau, ERP systems) and Microsoft Office suite.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams, manage multiple priorities, and communicate financial insights across departments.
  • Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills.
