Vice President Business Development and Marketing

Location: Remote / Nationwide (US-based)

This mid-sized, privately held innovator delivers advanced modeling, simulation, and training technologies that prepare war-fighters and allied personnel for tomorrow’s missions. Backed by strong C-suite sponsorship and an expanded growth budget, the company is modernizing its go-to-market strategy and seeks an executive change-agent to chart the next phase of expansion across defense and allied markets.

Why You Should Apply

  • Executive Seat at the Table – Own global growth strategy and marketing vision.
  • Investment & Autonomy – Backed by increased BD budget and supportive COO/CEO sponsorship.
  • High-Impact Mission – Advance technologies that enhance readiness and save lives.
  • Remote Flexibility – Operate from any U.S. location with periodic customer and HQ travel.
  • Compensation – Competitive base plus performance incentives and comprehensive benefits package.

Key Responsibilities

  •  Architect and execute a multi-year business-development roadmap that aligns federal and foreign-military-sales (FMS) opportunities with three-to-five-year corporate objectives, using data-driven pipeline analytics.
  • Direct the full capture lifecycle - from opportunity identification through pricing, proposal, and contract negotiation - for complex Live-Virtual-Constructive (LVC) training and C4ISR programs.
  • Oversee integrated marketing, communications, and public-relations campaigns that amplify brand presence and accelerate sales velocity.
  • Cultivate senior-level relationships with U.S. DoD program offices, coalition forces, and prime contractors to secure strategic teaming positions.
  • Manage, mentor, and scale a dispersed group of business-development managers and marketing professionals; instill rigorous CRM (e.g., Salesforce) governance and long-range forecast discipline.
  • Provide board-level growth forecasts, competitive intelligence, and investment recommendations that inform product-and-R&D roadmaps.

Required Qualifications

  • 15+ years’ progressive leadership in defense business development, capture, or sales with wins exceeding $100 M total contract value.
  • Demonstrated success securing U.S. DoD and international FMS programs; active Secret clearance (TS/SCI a plus).
  • Fluent in federal acquisition regulations, pricing strategy, and competitive positioning within training & simulation markets.
  • Proven track record bridging engineering, product, and customer-facing teams at the executive level.
  • Bachelor’s in Engineering, Business, or related field; MBA preferred.
  • Mastery of pipeline analytics and CRM governance.
