Location: Hybrid – San Francisco Bay Area

A fast‑growing, AI‑driven fintech innovator is looking for a bold Chief Technology Officer to steer their technology vision and engineering execution. This company is on track to transform banking for community banks and credit unions across the U.S. by delivering intelligent, scalable, and secure AI-powered customer experiences. As CTO, you will play a pivotal role defining the technical architecture and operational strategy that supports rapid growth, compliance, and industry-leading performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and implement a multi-year technology roadmap, translating product vision into scalable, compliant, and secure engineering delivery.
• Architect and evolve a multi-tenant, high‑concurrency AI platform with strong governance, observability, and cost-efficiency.
• Establish engineering best practices, including release engineering, observability, error budgeting, and compliance telemetry.
• Manage, mentor, and scale a global engineering organization, enabling high performance, accountability, and innovation.
• Collaborate closely with Product, Customer Success, Security, and Compliance teams to align technical execution with business goals.
• Ensure infrastructure supports enterprise‑grade security, data governance, regulatory compliance, and audit readiness.

Qualifications & Experience

• Extensive experience (12+ years) in technical leadership roles, including several years in senior or executive-level positions leading platform or infrastructure engineering.
• Proven leadership in scaling high-performing teams within startup environments, ideally from Series B through Series D, or during revenue growth phases from $10M to $100M+ ARR.
• Strong background in AI/ML systems, distributed architectures, cloud-native platforms, or large-scale SaaS/enterprise infrastructure.
• Demonstrated success building and leading high-performing engineering teams in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
• Deep understanding of software delivery, observability, CI/CD, scalability, reliability, and cost optimization.
• Prior experience working with regulated industries or within highly secure, compliance-heavy environments is a strong plus.
• Excellent strategic thinking, communication, and collaboration skills to work cross-functionally across business, product, and engineering.
• BS/MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical discipline; advanced degrees or equivalent experience welcomed.
